GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Head President: Julia Kim

Greetings!
My name is Julia Kim, a Senior attending the International School of Qingdao, and I’m honored to serve as this year’s Head President of the General Assembly. I vividly remember my first MUN conference, where I overcame initial fears and hesitations to become a confident delegate. It’s incredible how, despite our nerves, we all come together to express our opinions.
Delegates, please take this opportunity to express your opinions, and join us on the journey of solidarity, addressing global issues, and working together to achieve life through peace, security, and development.
I look forward to seeing you for an enjoyable and memorable conference!
See you all soon

Deputy President: Cecil Jang

Greetings! My name is Cecil Jang, a junior attending Chengdu International School. It is my utmost honor to serve you as a deputy chair of the General Assembly.

I still vividly remember my first MUN experience. With almost no knowledge of MUN procedures, I was confused throughout the whole conference, only making my mandatory main submitter speech. I couldn’t even answer the POIs thrown to me after my speech and could only mutter some random words that came to mind.

I know there are those of you out there who share a similar experience and might be afraid to speak out. But remember that the purpose of MUN is to share your innovative thoughts, so don’t fret about engaging in this meaningful experience. My goal as a chair is to provide help to all of you, so feel free to reach out. See you all at the conference!

Deputy President: Wonjun Son

Dear delegates Welcome to the General Assemably of Munisq 2025. I am WonJun Son, a junior attending Tianjin International School. It is my great honor to serve you as a deputy chair of the General Assembly. From my memories of first MUN, I vividly remember giving two speeches at a three-day conference because I lacked the confidence to address the large crowds directly. Reflecting on this experience, I regret not having the guts to tell others about my concept. I learned from memories to make sure that every voice is heard and every idea matters, making our MUN conferences more productive and beneficial for all participants. See you soon 😉

SECURITY COUNCIL

Head President: Eunsu Kwon

Welcome to the MUNiSQ 2025 Security Council!

My name is EunSu Kwon, a junior attending Yantai Huasheng International School. I am delighted to introduce myself as the head chair of the Security Council this year. Looking back to my previous conferences, I was always curious and passionate about debating certain world issues, which made me here now. Even if my committee assignment and topic moved when I first joined, I did not give up joining MUN and being curious. So, delegates, please do not fear to speak your voice and reach out me if you have any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to meeting you all in 2025 MUNiSQ!

Deputy President: Emily Ho

Greetings!

My name is Emily Ho and I am a junior from Grace International. It is my utmost pleasure to serve as a deputy chair for the Security Council at MUNISQ XVI.

MUN has been a formative part of my high school experience. Through it, I have sharpened my skills in articulation, negotiation, analysis, and social aptitude. I’ve learned how to focus under pressure, think on my feet (literally), accept my mistakes with humility, and extend grace and compassion to others.

Delegates, please approach this conference with a refusal to remain stagnant and an eagerness to learn from this experience regardless of whether this is your first or tenth conference. Prepare comprehensively, participate passionately, and have fun! As your chair I will support you along this journey to the best of my ability.

See you soon!

Deputy President: Chloe Cho

Greetings!

My name is Chloe Cho, a Sophomore attending the International School of Qingdao. I am honored to serve you as the deputy chair of the Security Council.

Looking back at my first MUN experience, I was also a delegate captured by the initial fear of speaking in front of a bunch of people with topics that seemed unchangeable. But with more experiences of knowing how to state your own opinion in front of others and debate about it, I found the satisfaction inside that made me truly enjoy these conferences.

Delegates, please take this conference as your chance and do not get scared to make speeches and ask POIs. This conference is a place for you to express yourself in front of others and thrive. As your deputy chair, I will do my best to support you so that you can have a memorable conference.

See you all soon!

ADVISORY PANEL

Head President: Conbo Yao

Hello everyone,

My name is Conbo, and I am a junior at the International School of Tianjin. It is an honor to serve as the president of the advisory panel at MUNISQ XVI.

This conference is particularly special for me, as it marks my first experience as a chair. Over the years, attending Model United Nations has greatly enhanced my self-confidence, leadership skills, and courage. I hope this conference provides each of you with the opportunity to develop your self-confidence, embrace leadership roles, and take that crucial first step—whether it’s delivering speeches, engaging in points of information, or proposing amendments, regardless of whether this is your first conference.

I look forward to seeing you all soon!

Deputy President: Emmanuella Chung

Hi, delegates! My name is Emmanuella Chung, and I’m a senior attending Grace International.

For five years, MUN has taught me how to negotiate, deliver speeches, and research issues from gender inequality to the lack of support for climate migrants. More importantly, however, it taught me to persevere. My first MUN, I embodied the fine line between bravery and stupidity by main-submitting amidst a group of first timers. Instead of consolidating ideas or researching, I spent the night before debate weeding out commas. Our resolution was swiftly failed. Yet, I forced myself to attend the next conference, then another. This year, I even have the honor of serving as your deputy chair.

Some advice: research thoroughly. Some random statistic ill-suited for your resolution will find its way into a speech or amendment. If you have any questions or ideas, please don’t hesitate to contact me at owlpost@protonmail.com!

Deputy President: Charles Sun

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Advisory Panel for MUNISQ 2025. My name is Charles Sun, and I am a sophomore at Tianjin International School. It is a great honor to serve as a deputy chair of the Human Rights Council. Looking back at my first MUN experience, I clearly remember delivering only one speech, one amendment, and one poi during the entire three-day conference due to my lack of confidence in speaking before a large audience. In hindsight, I regret not seizing the opportunity to share my ideas and contribute more actively. I hope that I could use my experiences to make your experience better throughout the conference and provide as much support as possible. I look forward to seeing you all soon!

ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL

Head President: Matthew Choe

Welcome to MUNiSQ 2025! I’m Matthew Choe, a senior at the International School of Qingdao. It is my honor to serve as the head president of the Economic and Social Council.

Our council will tackle some of the most pressing economic and social challenges, including the regulation of artificial intelligence in employment, the impact of cryptocurrency on financial stability, global tax reforms in the face of hyperinflation, and strategies to mitigate the effects of automation on vulnerable workers. These issues demand innovative thinking and collaborative problem-solving.

Don’t worry if you don’t fully understand the topics or feel nervous about public speaking. The chairs will do their best to guide you through the course of the debate and assist delegates who need help.

I hope every delegate will have the courage to step up in this upcoming conference and strive to bring feasible and sustainable solutions to the issues.

See you at the conference!

Deputy President: Ryeohun Kim

Hello everyone!
My name is Ryeohun Kim, a junior attending Tianjin International School. It is my greatest honor to serve you as one of the Deputy Chiars of ECOSOC at MUNISQ 2025.

MUN is a unique opportunity to interact with other delegates, discuss some of the world’s most pressing issues, and collaborate with others to come up with solutions to the issues.

As someone who used to be the timidest and quietest delegate in the entire committee, my advice, espeacially to new delegates, is to speak up more. I know it is very embarrasing and nerve-wracking at first; however, without taking that first step, improvement is impossible. Start with simpel POIs. With consistent efforts, you will find yourself gaining confidence and improving your speaking skills

I hope you prepare well for this conference, and I look forward to seeing you soon!

Deputy President: Minhee Park

Hello, delegates!

My name is MinHee Park, and I am a junior at the International School of Tianjin. It is my utmost honor to serve as the Deputy Chair of the Economic and Social Council at MUNISQ XVI.

This conference holds a special place in my MUN journey, as it marks my 11th conference. Over the years, participating in MUN has not only deepened my understanding of global issues but has also been an incredible platform for growth, collaboration, and leadership.

I encourage all of you to take this opportunity to challenge yourselves and engage in meaningful debate. Remember, MUN is not just about solving global problems—it’s also about building connections and gaining valuable skills along the way.

I look forward to seeing all of your contributions and making this conference a memorable experience together. See you soon! 😊

ENVIRONMENT COMMISSION

Head President: Esther Hale

Honorable chair, esteemed delegates, and distinguished guests, hey there! My name is Esther Hale, and I’m currently a junior attending Chengdu International School in Chengdu, China. This MUNiSQ will be my 6th MUN conference, and I’m slightly nervous but mostly excited for my first time serving as a head chair in MUN. MUN is one of my absolute favorite activities, and it connects us to a global community of delegates, chairs, admins, and executives all around the world. However, to be more specific, my favorite part of MUN is learning about the policies and practices of countries all around the world, and I hope everyone can get to know the countries of the United Nations at MUNiSQ this year. If you can’t already tell, my personal goal for this conference is to help all of you enjoy it too.

Deputy President: Joy Tham

My name is Joy Tham, and I am honoured to have been selected to serve as a student officer for the Environmental Commission of MUNiSQ 2025. This conference will be the tenth conference I have attended since the beginning of my MUN journey four years ago. Together with Esther and JaeHyun, I will do my best to ensure that this conference will be a memorable experience for all delegates in the Environmental Commission. In addition to the formal diplomacy we will be practicing during the moderated caucuses, I hope we can all have fun and form new connections at MUNiSQ 2025.

Deputy President: Jaehyun Cha

Greetings,

My name is JaeHyun Cha, and I am currently a freshman attending Tianjin International School. It is my distinct honor to serve as the Deputy Chair of the Environment Commission in this year’s MUNiSQ conference.

Model United Nations is a unique platform allowing students to express their passions in public speaking, debating, and solving global issues. Throughout my MUN journey, it transformed me from an inexperienced delegate hesitating to raise his placard to an ardent delegate confidently expressing his opinions.

Having experienced the transformative power that MUN holds, I strongly encourage all delegates to actively participate in the sessions to develop their public speaking, debating, and problem-solving skills. Remember, MUN is a place for cooperation and negotiation, not a competition for awards.

As your deputy chair, I will put forth my best effort to create a comfortable environment where all ideas can be heard and valued.

See you soon.

WORLD HEALTH ASSEMBLY

Head President: Huijae Choi

Dear Delegates,

It is an honor for me to welcome you to the World Health Assembly at MUNiSQ 2025! My name is HuiJae Choi, currently a senior at Chengdu International School.

As the Head Chair of WHA, I encourage delegates to focus on developing sustainable solutions to the ongoing intractable matters throughout the conference. Also, whether you have just embarked on or are marking the end of your MUN journey, I will make every effort to help create meaningful MUN memories for each and every one of you.

I hope this conference contributes positively to your future MUN experiences and leaves you with admirable memories. Please reach out to me with any questions you may have.

See you soon!

Deputy President: Kaylyn Kim

Hello delegates!
My name is Kaylyn Kim, and I am a sophomore at Chengdu International School (CDIS). I am honored to serve as your WHA Deputy Chair for MUNiSQ XVI.
When I first started MUN in 6th grade, I was terrified of speaking in front of others. Yet, even as I gained more experience, MUN always felt like jumping into an ice bath—vulnerable, unnerving, and definitely out of my comfort zone. But just like how an ice bath becomes bearable (and even enjoyable) over time, I hope you will come to see MUN as something you can be passionate, driven, and excited about.
As your Deputy Chair, I’m thrilled to share my enthusiasm for MUN with all of you. Remember that the memories we make, the friendships we forge, and the photos we take will last far beyond this conference. So, let’s make MUNiSQ XVI an unforgettable experience!

Deputy President: Karo Yoo

Welcome to MUNISQ 2025! My name is Karo Yoo, and I am honored to serve as your chair for this year’s conference. Having been actively involved in Model United Nations for almost 3 years, I have experienced the transformative power of this platform firsthand, from my initial nervous moments as a delegate to confidently leading discussions as a chair. MUN has not only honed my debating and diplomacy skills but also broadened my understanding of global issues and diverse perspectives. As you embark on this journey, I encourage you to embrace every challenge and opportunity with an open mind and a collaborative spirit. Remember, your contributions, no matter how small, can spark meaningful change. Let’s make this conference an unforgettable and enriching experience for all.
